A young man arrested on the charge of raping a young woman by showing the temptation of marriage has been sent to jail for trial.

Sarlahi : Harmes Kapar, 22, of Chandranagar rural municipality -7 has been remanded in custody for trial in a rape case by Sarlahi Court Judge Hari Prasad Koirala on Saturday. It is alleged that Kapar brought a 20 year old girl from Siraha to Ishwarpur in Sarlahi on Baishakh 28 after showing her the temptation of marriage.

He had fled the scene saying that he would come back shortly after the incident with the money and mobile phone he had with him. According to the victim, Kapar had asked for her mobile number from the locals when he went to Siraha some time ago and after returning to Sarlahi, he was tempted to make love and get married.

Police rescued the girl and handed her over to the Women’s Peace Center (Safe House) in Malangwa. Ishwarpur police had arrested Kapar only in the third week of June for giving wrong address to the girl. The Area Police Office, Kesharganj had filed a case against Kapar on the basis of the victim’s complaint. The victim is currently being kept in a safe house at the district headquarte Malangawa.
