The top five (five) ministries have been given special priority in the budget for the coming Fiscal Year 2078/79. The budgets of four ministries have been cut. According to a budget statement issued by Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel on Saturday, the ministries that will get more budget are the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Population and Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
Each of these ministries has received a budget of over Rs 100 crore, while about 40 percent of the total allocated budget has gone to these five ministries. The rest of the ministries, constitutional commissions and agencies have received less than 3 percent of the budget.
